Boy Scout Troop

Boy Scout Troop 288 is an adventurous, youth-led troop with ambitious goals and strong morals. Sponsored by the Annandale Reformed Church, Troop 288 meets at 7:30 on Tuesday evenings in their Fellowship Hall.  Founded in 1971, to date Troop 288 has helped 87 boys become Eagle Scouts and is proud to continue to provide scouting to the local area.  Scouting has a rich tradition at the Annandale Reformed Church with the first troop being sponsored there in June of 1918.  Troop 1, Troop 88, and Troop 188 were all predecessors to Troop 288.

the scout slogan

Do a Good Turn Daily

An American visitor to London in 1909 lost his way in a dense fog. Presently a boy approached and guided him to his destination. The visitor, Mr. Boyce, tried to give the boy a tip but the boy refused it saying, “No thank you, sir. I am a Scout. I won’t take anything for helping.”
