Troop 288 of Annandale has been in existence for over 30 years and has been rated a Quality Unit by the Boy Scouts of America organization for most of that time. The Troop currently consists of approximately 45 Scouts and over twenty active adult leaders. The troop has had over 20 Scout accomplish the rank of Eagle Scout. Our adult leadership is active in the Boy Scout organization at the local, regional, and state levels. Working with our youth leaders, our leadership develops our annual schedule of activities. The troop endeavors to campout approximately one a month at local and regional points of interest; many times combining with other local troops. We participate in at least in the summer camp programs of regional Boy Scout Camps, Trexler and Ockanickon, every year. This year we have a group attending the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Our campsite meals are famous throughout our region and unequalled by any other troop. No one goes hungry on a Troop 288 campout.
