A long and busy meeting on 6/16
Thorns and Roses from PUCO. Despite the wet weather and learning the importance of ‘be prepared’, all in all a good time. Congratulations to the overall winning Owl Patrol (look forward to that dinner fixed by the adults at a future campout), Pine Tree Patrol got the game trophy. There was a tie for patrol flag (all were deemed in need of work, so the prize was supplies to create a new flag).
Congratulations to John Procopio for receiving the Pope Pius XII award, the highest award in Catholic Scouting (and only the second person in the history of Troop 288 to be so honored).
Immaculate Conception Church is looking for volunteers to help with their carnival (Wed 6/17 thru Sunday). Sign up at the volunteer tent, service hours are available. Contact Ken Whalen for more details.
4th of July Parade in Lebanon, meet on Main Street at 9:00 am full class A uniform (bring water)
PLEASE respond to the Evite for Nick Vitovitch’s Eagle Ceremony so the family can plan lunch (11:00 am ceremony at Annandale Church on June 27th). If you didn’t get an Evite (some offices block them), please send an email with your name and number of people attending and an email address to use for future invitations (this saves on printing and postage and is an easy way for the organizers to track events) to sueivo@embarqmail.com

Beginning next meeting, switch to Class B summer uniforms (troop, camp, or other BSA shirt, scout shorts and sox) for meetings. Three more meetings before Trexler Summer Camp.
First year scouts all participate in a special advancement program at Trexler, so not a lot of merit badge choice (basketry, leatherwork, swimming). Those older scouts who haven’t given Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Molyneux their merit badge choices, please do so at next meeting. Get those partials completed on Friday of camp. Astronomy Merit badge will also be offered at night, but you need to sign up and do prerequisites. Start thinking about who you want to tent with (2 to a tent).
If you
haven’t turned in a completed medical form, you won’t be permitted to register.
Same site as last year (Bald Eagle) Remember, show up on Sunday in Class A (with
swimsuit underneath if you haven’t passed the swim test). Medieval theme, so
knights costumes, shields and soft swords are encouraged (no real swords, and
all swords are subject to adult approval or they’ll be trunked).
Family BBQ signups for Trexler are due.
A Trexler camp email with additional info will be sent out. Any questions, contact Suzy Molyneux
Troop 136 June Jambo payments are due end of this month.
